Tzu-Chi Ou completed her Ph.D. in Anthropology at Columbia University in 2018, followed by two years of postdoctoral research at the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica. In 2020, she joined the faculty at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan, where she teaches courses on migration, cultural anthropology, and Asian society. Her research examines the transformation of migration and the rural-urban divide, asking how the lived experience of place and space remakes the identity and existence of migrant workers in contemporary China and Taiwan. Most recently, she has embarked on a new project focusing on the reproductive rights of Southeast Asian migrant workers in Taiwan. Her work has appeared in Pacific Affairs and positions: asia critique.
